Pack Patience for Your Holiday Travel

the number of Americans who said they planned to travel at least 50 miles from home for the holidays dropped this year

It’s Christmas Eve – and millions of Americans are traveling for the holidays.  But a rash of bad weather around the country has delayed flights and clogged roads.  In New York, travelers are urged to pack extra time and patience.

U.S. airlines expected about 43 million holiday travelers from Thanksgiving week through the beginning of January. That is about 9% fewer people than traveled for the holidays in 2007.

Meantime, for the first time since 2002, AAA reports the number of Americans who said they planned to travel at least 50 miles from home for the holidays dropped this year.
