Police Activity Causes Major PATH Train Delays

Police activity caused PATH train delays on the Newark-World Trade Center line Tuesday morning, leaving hundreds of commuters standing on packed platforms.

NJ Transit was cross-honoring PATH tickets at Newark and New York Penn stations for a time, but the problem was cleared up by about 9 a.m. and the cross-honoring was no longer in effect.

The nature of the police activity that caused the delays wasn't immediately clear.

Photos posted to social media showed packed trains and waiting areas.
