A New Jersey police officer who has been arrested twice on drug charges has been fired for refusing to take a drug test.

Richard Giacobone had been suspended without pay from the Palisades Park force since November 2017, after anabolic steroids, cocaine, marijuana and high-capacity ammunition magazines were allegedly found at his Fort Lee home. A judge dismissed the charges from that arrest in August.

While he was still on suspension, Giacobone was arrested again for drug possession after a motor vehicle stop in Fort Lee last December. Those counts are still pending.

Authorities say Giacobone did not comply with a mandated urine test and was dismissed from the force Sept. 24.

A telephone number for Giacobone could not be located Tuesday.
