OSHA to Investigate Beer Distributor Killings

OSHA is investigating the massacre at Hartford Distributors in Manchester but plans to wait until after the victims’ funerals to dive deeply into parts of the investigation.

The administration will wait before getting deeply into interviews and other parts of the investigation to give family members some time to grieve, David Michaels, the head of the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, said.

OSHA has sent investigators to the site of the mass shooting where disgruntled employee Omar Thornton killed eight colleagues and himself Tuesday, Michaels said.

Thornton had just been forced to resign for stealing from the beer distributor company when he opened fire. Manchester police are investigating, and the company remained closed Thursday.
