Long Island Woman Accused of Endangering Kids, Starving Dogs

A Long Island woman has been arrested after police say her two children were found living in unsanitary conditions.

When Nassau County police arrived at the North Merrick house on Tuesday they also found 15 underfed dogs living in crates, authorities said.

The two children were taken to a hospital for evaluation.

The animals were removed to a shelter.

Yvette Seibert is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and torturing or injuring animals by failing to provide sustenance.

It wasn't immediately clear if she had a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
