Several people were shot inside an apartment in Newark Thursday night, police said.

As many as four people were shot in an apartment at Avon Avenue and South 16th Street at about 10:15 p.m., according to police. 

Their conditions were not immediately clear. Police have not said if there was a motive or any possible suspects.
