NYC Launches App to Teach Teens About Sexual Health

A new free app targeted at New York City teens provides resources for sexual health-related questions.

The app called “Teens in NYC Protection +” provides extensive information on contraception, testing for sexually transmitted diseases and other sex-related topics.

The app, which was launched by Mayor Bloomberg's administration, also provides users with educational videos and locations of clinics. It's intention is to help prevent teen pregnancies.

The app operates under a New York State law that states teens have the right to access sexual health services without permission from parents or guardians.
