NY Man Charged with Murder 5 Years After Woman's Death

Prosecutors in Westchester County say a man who shot an innocent bystander has been charged with murder five years after her death.

Rahsi McClean, of Mount Vernon, was arraigned Thursday on charges including second-degree murder in the Aug. 8, 2011 shooting of 27-year-old Gloria Nartey.

Nartey was shot in the back of the head as she walked home from the Mount Vernon train station carrying groceries.

Acting Westchester County District Attorney James McCarty says the 26-year-old McClean is a gang member who was shooting at a rival when he hit Nartey.

Nartey died instantly. She was working as a research scientist at Pepsi at the time of her death.

McClean pleaded not guilty to the charges. His attorney did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
