New York Lawmakers to Discuss Climate Change

Members of New York's state Assembly will meet to discuss the state's response to climate change.

The Assembly Committee on Environmental Conservation and the chamber's Climate Change Work Group will hold a joint gathering Monday in Albany.

The Work Group was created earlier this year by Speaker Carl Heastie to discuss ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to respond to more frequent extreme weather events and other effects of a changing climate.

Both the committee and the work group are chaired by Assemblyman Steve Englebright, a Long Island Democrat.
