The New York Knicks have fired head coach David Fizdale, two league sources tell News 4.

Fizdale’s departure comes one day after the Knicks lost to the Denver Nuggets 129-92 Thursday night, bringing the team to 4-18 this season.

Fizdale was the Memphis Grizzlies coach before he was hired by The Knicks in May 2018 after agreeing to terms, according to NBA.com.

Fizdale went 50-51 with the Grizzlies, leading them to the postseason in his only full season before getting fired early 2017 after clashing with star Marc Gasol, NBA.com previously reported.

Fizdale replaced Jeff Hornacek, who lasted two seasons in New York before getting fired hours after the season finale, according to NBA.com.
