Transgender Person Attacked, Beaten With Plexiglas in Brooklyn: NYPD

Police say they are investigating the beating of a 28-year-old transgender person in Brooklyn over the weekend as a possible hate crime.

The victim was walking at Bushwick Avenue and Halsey Street in Bushwick at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when she was attacked by four men, who hit and kicked the victim to the ground, according to the NYPD.

Police say that the victim eventually got back up and was hit in the head with a piece of a Plexiglas.

The victim was taken to the hospital and went through surgery. The victim is currently in serious but stable condition.

The attackers left the scene after the attack. No arrests have been made.
