Robbers Jam Gun in Woman's Mouth Near Mayor de Blasio's Park Slope Home: Sources

Police are looking for a pair of violent robbers they say jammed a gun in a woman’s mouth and chipped her teeth just a block from Mayor de Blasio’s home in Brooklyn, sources familiar with the investigation tell NBC 4 New York.

The woman, a subway booth operator, was walking to the Fourth Avenue - Ninth Street subway station in Park Slope on Sunday when two men pulled up in a car and started walking toward her, the sources say. One of the men allegedly jammed a semi-automatic handgun in the woman’s mouth and said “give me your money!”

When the woman said she didn’t have anything, the robbers pushed her to the ground. The man with the gun began hitting her over the head and demanded money, sources said. The woman screamed and said, “I’m a police officer!" to try to get the men to stop attacking her.

The woman recounted the terrifying encounter to NBC 4 New York Wednesday.

"I kept screaming for help, just 'let go, no, stop,'" she said. "I wanted it all to end."

The ruckus apparently awoke a nearby resident, who the woman said came out of the door of the home. The men then ran off, the sources say.

The woman chipped two teeth in the attack and had a swollen lip after being hit with the gun. She also received 13 staples in the right side of her head.

The site of the attack – on 10th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues -- is just doors down from the home where de Blasio lived before moving into Gracie Mansion. He is renting out the three-story townhouse, which is 100 years old.

"I think they need more surveillance cameras in that neighborhood, plus other neighborhoods, not just on the mayor's house," the victim told NBC 4 New York.

Sources say the men may be linked to a second robbery less than 10 minutes later near the Union Hotel on Degraw Street.

In that attack, two men got out of a car and approached a pair of victims walking and said, “Give us your stuff.” The victims then took one of the victims’ pocketbook, and ran off. The bag contained the woman’s driver’s license, credit cards, cash and cellphone.

A man out for a walk the next morning found the purse on the side of the road on Fifth Avenue the next morning and flagged down an officer. The only thing missing from the bag was the woman’s cellphone, sources say.

No arrests have been made in either case.
