New York Authorities Bust 6 People in Firearms Trafficking Ring

Six people have been charged in a firearms trafficking ring that supplied guns from South Carolina to New York City.

Authorities say the six conspired to sell more than 100 pistols, assault rifles, revolvers, shotguns and ammunition to an undercover detective posing as a firearms dealer during 42 separate transactions in Harlem and the Bronx.

The illegal sales happened between December 2015 and March 2017.

Three of the defendants are from South Carolina. Authorities say they would purchase the weapons from local firearms dealers and transport them up to New York City via bus.

The 203-count indictment announced Wednesday charges the defendants with various counts including criminal sale of a firearm and conspiracy.
