New Park Slope Flea Joins Bazaar Lineup

This flea is not to be confused with the market on Seventh Avenue and First Street by the same name

Move over Dumbo and Fort Greene, there's a new Brooklyn flea in town.

The Park Slope Flea Market launched this month in the 25,000 square foot parking lot of the Al-Noor school on 20th Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenues.

The Park Slope Flea Market --not to be confused with the other Park Slope flea at PS 321 on Seventh Avenue– is the latest in the borough’s growing appreciation of all things re-sold, reclaimed and refurbished.

More than 60 vendors selling furniture, art, food, jewelry and other goods will set up each weekend through December.

The flea’s location on the border of South Slope and what some people are calling Greenwood Heights is sure to bring in a varied clientele. The Brooklyn Paper reports that some Greenwood Heights residents are irked by the choice of name for the bazaar, contending there already enough Park Slope-isms in the world.
