3 More NYC Unions Sign New Labor Deals

Three more New York City municipal unions are agreeing to new labor contracts with Mayor Bill de Blasio's administration.

The Communications Workers of America Local 1180, the Civil Service Bar Association and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 306 all signed new deals Thursday.

The agreements are consistent with a pattern established by the deal the city struck with powerful teachers union last spring.

Employees will receive approximately 10 percent raises over seven years and a $1,000 bonus.

In return, the unions will be required to find ways to cut health care costs.

The three unions combined have about 9,000 employees.

All of the city's unions were working on expired contracts when de Blasio took office in January 2014.

Now, 74 percent of the unions have new contracts.
