Police in New Jersey are asking for help locating the driver of a dump truck who fled after hitting a bicyclist in Elizabeth Wednesday morning, killing him.
Police said the truck hit the bicyclist, 37-year-old Cassidy Liaci, on the 900 block of Fairmount Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. Responding officers found Liaci lying on the street with traumatic injuries, next to a mangled bike.
Liaci was taken to Trinitas Hospital, and he died in the emergency room, police said.
Police say the vehicle that hit Liaci fled before authorities arrived; they describe it as a blue tractor-style truck with a large dump-style trailer.
