NJ Transit Bus Operator Shot, Killed in Garage: Officials

A New Jersey Transit bus operator was shot and killed in a Gloucester County bus depot by a woman who then took her own life in a nearby parking lot, authorities say.

Officials say Piacenta Jackson, 44, of Woodbury, New Jersey shot Ryon Reynolds, 45, of Sicklerville at a New Jersey Transit garage on the Black Horse Pike in Washington Township, New Jersey around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Reynolds, who was a NJ Transit bus driver, died from his injuries.

Police say Jackson then shot and killed herself near a business at Center and Trenton streets in Mantua Township, New Jersey a short time later.

A business owner next to the garage, where NJ Transit buses are housed overnight, says the depot is often busy: "There's people always walking around, cars in and out," he said.

An investigation is underway on the scene. The lot was shut down as police investigated.
