New Jersey Teacher's Aide Accused of Molestation: Prosecutors

The boy allegedly told his mother that he was abused at School No. 17 in Passaic

A New Jersey teacher's aide has been accused of molesting a boy in a preschool classroom three years ago, prosecutors said.

The boy, now 8, allegedly told his mother that Luis Martinez-Palencia molested him several times at School No. 17 in Passaic, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.

The boy was between 3 and 5 years old when he was abused, and was a student in Martinez-Palencia's preschool class.

Martinez-Palencia, 62, is charged with sexual assault, official misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child.

The man, who doesn't yet have an attorney, is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail. If he is released, prosecutors said, he is not to have contact with the victim.
