New Jersey Middle, High Schools Cleared After Lockdown: Officials

A New Jersey middle and high school that share the same address were locked down as a precaution Monday, but the situation was cleared a short time later, authorities said.

It wasn't clear why Cresskill high and middle schools on Lincoln Drive were locked down but the situation was resolved within about 90 minutes, authorities said. Video from the scene showed a heavy emergency response.

Parents got text and email alerts that their children were safe.

The school district's superintendent didn't immediately respond to voice or email messages.
