New Jersey Club's Famed Mechanical Bull, ‘Buck Off,' to Be Put Up for Auction

A New Jersey club famed for being the first in the state to offer mechanical bull rides has shut down and is selling off the last of its assets, including its state-licensed mechanical bull called Buck Off.

The country western-themed Colorado Cafe in Watchung closed suddenly Monday, leaving customers stunned and frustrated, NJ.com reports.

It's not clear why the owners decided to shut down the club, which included several bars and a restaurant with pool tables.

The club opened in 1994 and became famous for its 3,000-square-foot dance floor, according to NJ.com. It hosted line-dancing events for thousands of people at the height of country music's popularity in the 1990s, and was the first in New Jersey to offer mechanical bull rides.

Among the items up for auction beginning July 31 are the club's bar room decor and neon signs, table and chairs, dance floor lighting and the mechanical bull, called Buck Off.
