Amputee: Bayonne Cop Towed Car, Left Him on Road to Walk Home

A New Jersey man who recently had part of his foot amputated says a police officer had his car towed and left him on the side of the road after a traffic stop.

The Jersey Journal reports Thursday that 59-year-old Kieran Walsh has filed a complaint with the Bayonne Police Department because an officer wouldn't help him get home even after he disclosed that some of his toes had been amputated. He had complications from diabetes.

Walsh says he was pulled over for beeping at a police cruiser last month and that the officer had his car towed because his registration was expired.

He says the 45-minute walk home resulted in a bloody and infected foot.

A spokesman for the police department was not available for comment.
