New Drive Planned in Search for Lauren Spierer

Twenty-year-old college student vanished more than two months ago after a night out with friends.

The parents of an Indiana University student missing since early June plan to take part in a drive to hang new posters of her around the campus the day before classes resume for the fall semester.

Organizers hope the volunteer event planned for Sunday in Bloomington will draw fresh attention to the disappearance of 20-year-old Lauren Spierer.

The Greenburgh, N.Y., woman vanished early June 3 while walking alone after a night out with friends.

Bloomington police Capt. Joe Qualters tells The Herald-Times that a search that began last week continues of a landfill near Terre Haute.

The Journal News of Westchester, N.Y., reports that Robert and Charlene Spierer will return to Bloomington from their New York home this weekend to join in the event for their daughter.
