Napping Burglary Suspect Arrested on Long Island: Police

A suspected burglar was arrested on Long Island Thursday after he was found napping in his car with stolen lottery tickets, police say.

Officers got a call about a man sleeping in his car on Wantagh Avenue in Levittown at about 8 a.m. Thursday, according to the Nassau County Police Department. When they arrived, officers found the lottery tickets, a dispensing case and marijuana in the man’s car.

Officers later learned that the lottery tickets had been stolen in a burglary at a business in Massapequa earlier that day.

The man is charged with third-degree burglary, possession of stolen property and drug possession.
