Naked Swimmer Arrested for Trespassing Near JFK

The operators of Kennedy International Airport say they've arrested a man found swimming in a waterway next to the airport's fuel farm.

A spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says JFK roving patrols spotted the naked swimmer at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Steven Coleman says the man ran toward the fuel farm when the patrols approached. He was caught near a boat dock and never entered the restricted area.

The suspect was taken to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation. He was charged with criminal trespass, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

The incident occurred a day before a Congressional hearing in Washington on airport security.

Perimeter security plans are the airports' responsibility, but they're approved by the TSA.
