NYPD Seeks Suspect in Assault on Bus Driver

Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man wanted in connection with the assault of a city bus driver in Brooklyn.

A surveillance camera on the bus captured the man punching the driver, 62-year-old Andrew Jackson. An MTA spokesman said the passenger, believed to be in his 20s, became irate for some reason and struck the driver.

The assault occurred on the B8 bus at about 6:15 p.m. on Jan. 29 at the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Avenue D in the East Flatbush neighborhood.

Jackson wasn't injured and continued along his route, MTA officials said.

Investigators released the video and ask that anyone with information about the incident call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
