Authorities say a 51-year-old man has died after being found unconscious in a cell inside a Manhattan police precinct.
A spokesman for the NYPD says Edward Soto was found unresponsive in the cell at the 19th Precinct on the Upper East Side at about 10 a.m. Sunday.
Soto, who lived in the Bronx, was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
The NYPD's internal affairs bureau is investigating. The medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.
