NYPD Cops Confiscate Guns From Man in Car With 4 Flat Tires

NYPD officers arrested a man and confiscated six guns from him after they spotted him sitting in a car with four flat tires, police said.

Officers Robert DiFalco, Benjamin Aboagye and Joseph Degirolamo were on patrol in an unmarked police car when they saw Terrell Smith, 28, sitting in a white Subaru with four flats near 153rd Street and 109th Road in South Jamaica Wednesday night.

The cops approached Smith, who immediately got out of the car, tossed a handgun onto the front seat and ran away, police allege.

The three cops, joined by Sgt. Mary Humburg and Officer Daniel Gasperetti, chased down Smith and arrested him nearby, police said.

After a search of the Subaru, the cops found six guns and a large amount of ammunition, police said. Marijuana was also allegedly found in the car.

During the chase and ensuing arrest, DiFalco somehow injured his wrist and was taken to the hospital. He was treated and released.

Smith was arrested and charged a number of criminal possession of a weapon charges, assault on a police officer, tampering with physical evidence and criminal possession of a weapon.

Attorney information for Smith was not immediately available.
