NYC Cop Pleads Not Guilty to Rape

Arthur Roldan, 28, pleaded not guilty to charges of rape, menacing and assault at his arraignment Thursday

The New York City police officer who was arrested on rape and other charges pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Thursday.

Arthur Roldan, 28, posted $20,000 bail Thursday, according to his attorney. He was ordered to stay away from the alleged victim and to have no contact with her. 

Roldan is accused in a July 31 incident on Staten Island, where he lives, police said. Roldan and the victim knew each other, and the officer was off duty at the time. 

Roldan, a six-year veteran, is assigned to a Brooklyn precinct. He has been suspended from his job without pay.
