Woman Stabbed to Death in Queens; Roommate in Police Custody

Police took a man into custody after his roommate was stabbed to death at a home in Queens Wednesday night.

Officers found the 25-year-old woman, identified as Carolyn Bush, with multiple stab wounds while responding to a 911 call of an assault at 1861 Stanhope St. in Ridgewood shortly before midnight.

The woman's roommate was found suffering from what appeared to be a self-inflicted stab wound to his leg, police said.

Bush was rushed to Wyckoff Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Her roommate, identified as 26-year-old Render Stetson-Shanahan, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. 

He has been arrested on murder, weapon, menacing and criminal mischief charges, police said. Attorney information for the man wasn't immediately available.
