1 Woman Dead, Another Woman Injured in Harlem Stabbings; 3 Charged: NYPD

Two women were stabbed in Harlem on Sunday night, and one of them died from her injuries, police said.

Police said a dispute in a ninth floor hallway at 95 Lenox Street led to the two women being stabbed.

A 38-year-old woman was stabbed in her back and slashed across her face shortly after 2 a.m. A 21-year-old woman was stabbed in her abdomen, police said.

The 38-year-old woman died from her injuries at a hospital. The 21-year-old woman was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital and is expected to survive. 

Police said they arrested and charged one woman and two men in connection with the stabbings. 

Ashanti Daniels, 26, was charged with murder, attempted murder and criminal possesion of a weapon. Police initially questioned Daniels as a person of interest earlier on Tuesday. She was arrested later in the day. 

Tyson Martin, 28, was charged with assault, and James Martin, 27, was charged with assault and tampering with evidence.

It wasn't immediately clear if the three of them have attorneys.
