Titi Monkeys Debut at Prospect Park Zoo for Chinese Year of the Monkey

The Prospect Park Zoo is debuting two Bolivian titi monkeys to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Monkey.

The male and female titis will live alongside two white-faced saki monkeys at the zoo’s Hall of Animals building.

The two monkey species have overlapping ranges in Colombia, Peru and Bolivia, according to the zoo. Titis are also found in northern Paraguay.

The titis’ favorite treats are fruits, leaves and insects, which they eat in the canopy of trees in the wild.

The Prospect Park Zoo is celebrating the Year of the Monkey with special activities on Feb. 27 and 28.

The Queens Zoo is also celebrating the Chinese New Year, with events on Feb. 20 and 21.
