A Westchester County principal who resigned to accept a job with the New York City Department of Education has had his offer rescinded, the department said.

New Rochelle High School Principal Reginald Richardson tendered his resignation on Friday with plans to become a Director of School Quality for the New York City DOE, but the DOE on Saturday rescinded the job offer, LoHud reported.

“Mr. Richardson received a part-time, conditional offer as a consultant with the title Director of School Quality, which was rescinded after we became aware of additional information,” a spokesman for the DOE told NBC New York, without providing additional details.

The City School District of New Rochelle was in the process of investigating the school over alleged grade-fixing, according to LoHud.

The school was also plagued by violence this past year. In January, a 16-year-old girl was stabbed to death by another student. Less than two weeks later, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed when a fight broke out inside the school.

Last month, meanwhile, the school ramped up security after it received three potential threats, including graffiti in a bathroom that read, "we are gonna shoot the school up June 5."
