Madness at the Mall: Queens Center Evacuated Over Flooding

The Queens Center mall was evacuated Sunday evening after reports of a fire and flooding at the shopping center, the FDNY said.

The FDNY said shortly after 8 p.m. that the situation was under control and there was no fire. But a sprinkler was somehow set off, causing a major water leak.

Images from the mall on Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst show water pooling around stores and kiosks.
