Budweiser Truck Tips Over on BQE, Causes Commute Headaches

A Budweiser truck overturned on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, injuring one man and causing headaches on the busy roadway through the Monday morning rush.

The beer truck tipped over in the Queens-bound lanes of the BQE at Hamilton Avenue in Brooklyn at about 3:51 a.m.

Fire officials said that one man was taken to the hospital with serious trauma.

As crews tried to soak up the suds, delays on the roadway snaked all the way back to the Gowanus Expressway toward the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. Chopper 4 footage from the scene showed crews working to clean up the red, white and blue cans that had spilled all over the highway.

The roadway remained closed until about 10:15 a.m., according to 511NY. Residual delays could hang around later into the morning.
