Stranger Forces Boy Into Park, Pulls Down Pants and Attacks Him: NYPD

An 11-year-old boy was grabbed by a stranger at knifepoint Thursday before he was taken into a Bronx park and attacked, police said.

The boy was walking to pick up his brother at P.S. 41 on Thursday afternoon when he was approached by the stranger near White Plains Road and Magenta Street, police said.

The stranger, who police say is a teenager between the ages of 17 and 19, grabbed the boy at knifepoint and directed him into Bronx Park, where he demanded his money, police said. He then forced the boy to the ground by his neck and pulled down his pants.

An 11-year-old boy was forced into a park in the Bronx at knifepoint by a stranger, police say. Ray Villeda reports.

The boy was able to get away from the stranger and run for help. That’s when he ran into the arms of a good Samaritan, Dolly Wynn.

“The kid ran up to me, ‘Help me miss, please,’” Wynn said. “So I just grabbed him, he collapsed in my arms.”

“He said the guy walked up to him and said, ‘You got any money?’ He said ‘No,’ and the guy just took him by the neck,” Wynn said.

“When he came to me, his clothes was disheveled, he had mud everywhere,” Wynn said. “He kept spitting a lot.”

Police were patrolling the neighborhood in search of the suspect Thursday night. The NYPD said it has video of him and the boy walking into the park, but his image is not clear. Police said he may be an older teen.

P.S. 41 sent a letter to parents about the ordeal. There will be stepped up security at the school Friday.

Mary Garcia has three children who go to the school.

“Been here five years and never – I’ve never heard anything like this happening. It’s very concerning,” Garcia said.
