Police have arrested the friend of a man who was pushed onto subway tracks and struck by a train in Chelsea Sunday morning.

Aaron Clary, 25, from Newark was arrested on attempted manslaughter and assault charges. He turned himself in Sunday night.

Mike Allison, 54, is expected to survive after being struck and pinned by the subway train following a drunken argument in Chelsea, police said.

Allison was hit by a northbound 1 train at the 18th Street subway station shortly before 7:20 a.m. Sunday. Officers found him pinned underneath the conductor's car after arriving at the scene.

Police say Allison told officers he couldn't remember whether he was pushed onto the tracks or fell himself.

A friend of Allison's told police Sunday that another friend had pushed him. Police say all three men were "highly intoxicated."
