NYC Concert Venue Webster Hall Investigates After Brawl Erupts During Rap Performance

A New York City nightclub says it's investigating after a brawl apparently broke out during a rapper's performance.

Rapper Skate Maloley was in the middle of his act at Webster Hall in East Village Saturday night when the fight broke out.

Videos of the brawl have been posted on Twitter and YouTube showing fights breaking out onstage before the rapper exits. Maloley said on Twitter that he had been trying to save his "fans from getting choked out."

The concert hall says in a statement that it's investigating and that staff only carries strobe flashlights— not stun guns.

Maloley canceled a performance scheduled for Sunday in Boston.

An online petition has been created calling for the closing of the music venue.

Police say no arrests have been made.
