Police Search for Suspect in Shooting Death of 24-Year-Old Bronx Man

Police are searching for a suspect in the shooting death of a 24-year-old man in the Bronx.

David Hooks was shot in the stomach at East 194th Street and Briggs Avenue in Fordham on Sunday. When police arrived at the scene around 3 p.m. they found Hooks unconscious on the ground. He was rushed in critical condition to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In surveillance video of the shooting, the 20-something-year-old suspect is seen running from two men down a sidewalk. He then turns back and shoots at both of them. The first man who is shot at runs out of the video frame, away from the shooter. The second man runs behind a car as the shooter gives chase. It is unclear which man is Hooks.

It is not known what happened to the second man who was shot at.
