Suspect Arrested in Death of Man Found Beaten With Tree Limb in Queens Park

Police have arrested a man wanted in connection with the death of a 23-year-old man, who was found dead in in a wooded area of Queens earlier this month.

Zoltan Forai, 44, was arrested Friday night, police said. He was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The body of 23-year-old Diego Piedrahita was found in the area of Forest Park Drive and Woodhaven Boulevard in Forest Park on June 10, according to police. A parkgoer came across the body underneath a bridge and by some abandoned train tracks.

Piedrahita had apparently beaten in the head with a tree limb, police said.

It's unclear how long he had been dead; police say he was unconscious and unresponsive, and had trauma to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner ruled the cause of death to be blunt trauma, and authorities later said the Queens man was likely killed with a tree limb.
