They'll become brothers in blue, and their father's colleagues.
Three sons of an NYPD official are due to be sworn in as officers this week, in what may mark the first time three siblings have ever graduated from the city's police academy at one time, according to reports.
"It feels amazing," said dad Deputy Inspector Anthony Favale, a 30-year police veteran. He said he's delighted that his sons chose to follow in his career, "and the fact that it's happening all at the same time is like winning the lottery."
His sons — 24-year-old Stephen and 22-year-old twins Alec and John — will be among more than 1,200 cadets graduating Tuesday, the New York Post reports.
"Our father is very successful, and we are very proud of him," Stephen Favale told the Post. "You really do need three sets of feet to fill his shoes."
The brothers will start their careers spread around the city: Alec in a precinct in Manhattan's West Village neighborhood, John in Brooklyn's Coney Island and Stephen on Staten Island. Their father once worked at the same Coney Island and Staten Island precincts, although he's now assigned to the department's Organized Crime Bureau.
In addition to their father, the young men have an aunt and a cousin in the NYPD. Their mother, Stephanie, said she anticipated one of her sons would join the force, but not all three.

John Favale's police ambitions date back the longest, so he'll be getting his father's patrolman's badge.
"I've waited my whole life for this," he told the newspaper, "and to have my brothers there with me, graduating by my side, it's a dream come true."
