Police are searching for two men who robbed a taxi cab driver at gunpoint as he sat in his parked car on the Upper East Side early Sunday morning.

Video surveillance footage shows the taxi driver sitting in his cab outside 25 E. 78th St. just after 4 a.m. as the two suspects walk by. The two men keep walking and continue to talk before one walks out of the video frame and the other turns back towards the cab.

After waiting a moment for traffic to pass, the second suspect runs over to the taxi and shows the cabbie a gun, according to police. He then allegedly steals $160 from the cabbie before taking off with the other suspect on foot.

No one was reported injured in the robberies.

Police are investigating and ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
