1977 Yankees Ring, Bronze Urn Stolen From Car: Police

Police are searching for the man who stole a gold Yankees championship ring and a bronze urn from a vehicle in New York City.

The NYPD said the vehicle was found last Friday on East 89th Street in Canarsie, two days after it was stolen on West 27th Street in Chelsea.

The owner of the vehicle had a 1977 gold Yankees championship ring and a bronze cube cremation urn inside the vehicle when it was stolen.

It’s not clear who the ring belongs to, but police said that it does not belong to a player. They also said that they don’t believe the urn had any remains in it at the time the vehicle was stolen.

Police released a surveillance image of a suspect, who they say took off with the ring and the urn after ditching the car in Canarsie.
