Police are investigating the death of a motorcyclist who they say was attempting to do wheelies at an elevated parking garage of a Long Island mall.
Nassau County police say the man was on his 2014 Suzuki Saturday night on the second level of the Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City when he lost control of the bike and struck a retaining wall. Police say he was ejected from the bike and fell about 20 feet to the ground.
Police identified the victim only as a 31-year-old St. Albans man. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The motorcycle was impounded for brake and safety checks.
