Amtrak Worker Hit, Killed by Train

Trains on the Northeast Corridor line in New Jersey are running again after an Amtrak employee was struck and killed.

An Amtrak spokesman says the accident occurred just before 5 a.m. Tuesday near New Brunswick.

Trains between Philadelphia and New York experienced delays of up to an hour but eventually resumed regular service. But a signal problem in the Hudson River tunnel was delaying NJ Transit service in and out of Manhattan by about 30 minutes on Tuesday afternoon.

Amtrak spokesman Craig Schulz says the accident is being investigated. The employee hasn't been identified.
