NJ Transit Expands “Quiet Commute” Program

New Jersey Transit officials are expanding the agency's Quiet Commute program.

Executive Director Veronique "Ronnie" Hakim said Tuesday the service will be expanded to off-peak trains that serve the Hoboken Terminal.

Hakim says the expansion comes in direct response to recommendations from customers. The pilot program is scheduled to start May 5.

Designated quiet cars will be the first car on trains traveling to Hoboken, and the last car on trains departing Hoboken. The quiet cars will be designated on all off-peak trains arriving and departing Hoboken Terminal between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays only.
