NJ Transit to Resume Full Service at Hoboken Terminal Monday Morning

What to Know

  • NJ Transit will resume full service at Hoboken Terminal starting at 4 a.m. Monday
  • Tracks 1 through 4, 7, and 8 will be opened, while tracks 5 and 6 remain closed for restoration work
  • Trains entering the station will reduce their approach speed to 5 mph from 10 mph

Full service will be restored at Hoboken Terminal Monday morning, less than three weeks after service was suspended, NJ Transit said.

Starting at 4 a.m. Monday, commuters can access Tracks 1 through 4 using the external walkway near PATH. Tracks 7 and 8 can be accessed through the Main Terminal, the railroad announced Friday afternoon.

Tracks 5 and 6 remain closed as the agency continues ongoing repair work.

The ticket office will resume operation in the Terminal Saturday. Monday's schedule will be available online after 10 p.m. Saturday.

As an added safety measure, trains entering Hoboken Terminal will decrease their approach speed to 5 miles per hour from 10 mph, NJ Transit said. The addition complements a new rule of having the conductor ride in the cab car.

Commuters should be aware that there will be some route reconfigurations to account for the change in access points, the agency said.

NJ Transit also advised commuters about potential delays and congested conditions in certain locations at the Terminal.
