Authorities say a girl is receiving treatment after she was attacked and scratched by a rabid raccoon in Somerset County.
Health officials tell the Courier News of Bridgewater the girl was leaving a nursery school in the Easton Avenue area of Franklin Township on Nov. 6 when the attack occurred.
The animal was captured and tested positive for rabies.
Another rabid raccoon came in contact with a dog on Sept. 16 in the township.
