NJ Officer Accused of Exposing Himself Takes Plea Deal

A northern New Jersey police officer accused of exposing himself to at least five young men during traffic stops has accepted a plea deal that calls for him to resign.

Newton Officer Jason Miller pleaded guilty Monday to tampering with records and could face a 60-day county jail term when he's sentenced Aug. 7. He also will likely receive a probation sentence and will be barred from seeking employment in law enforcement in New Jersey.

During the hearing, Miller admitted turning off the video and audio components of his patrol car's dashboard camera system "to conceal unprofessional and inappropriate conduct" between March and October of last year.

Miller was suspended without pay after his arrest last November. The 37-year-old had served on the Newtown force for 14 years.
