2 Officers at Hospital After Possible Police-Involved Shooting in Jersey City

Two police officers were taken to a hospital after a possible late night police-involved shooting in Jersey City.

Detectives were combing a crime scene at Woodland and Lembeck avenues for evidence early Tuesday morning.

Gunfire erupted at the intersection shortly before midnight on Monday, according to police.

There are unconfirmed reports that two officers shot a man with a knife in his arm, although the circumstances around the possible police-involved shooting weren’t immediately known. 

Two officers were taken to Jersey City Medical Center to be checked out. They are expected to be okay.

The condition of the man who may have been shot by police has not been released.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating, along with Jersey City police.
