NJ Gymnastics Gym Owner Arrested on Child Pornography Charge

A New Jersey gymnastics gym owner was arrested Tuesday on child pornography charges, authorities said.

Ronald Charles, 51, the owner of Freehold’s Galaxy Gymnastics, was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography. He was released after posting $40,000 bail, authorities said.

Detectives were led to Charles after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited children, authorities said. Freehold police then obtained a search warrant for Charles’ apartment and computer and found child pornography images.

Judge Nicole Sonnenblick ordered Charles not to have any unsupervised contact with minors when he is out on bail, authorities said.

If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

An attorney representing Charles said his client denies the charges.
